https://media.nolog.cz/videos/watch/ee778862-8194-4ca2-a2b7-10f53add77ac On Thursday 5 November 2026, several people associated with the groups Antimilitarist Initiative (AMI) and Dezertér made their way to the current Ukrainian Consulate in Brno and the former Embassy of the Russian Federation to pay tribute to the victims of the war and to those who had been imprisoned for their anti-war activities. A memorial has been set up outside the Ukrainian representative office dedicated to the victims of the war, in particular the men who froze to death or drowned whilst attempting to flee Ukraine to avoid forced conscription into the war. Several photographs of the deceased have been left at the site. Flowers, candles and messages have been placed beside them to honour their memory. Outside the former Russian embassy, several photographs were displayed of people whom Putin’s regime had imprisoned for their anti-war views and activities. A banner reading „SOLIDARITA S PROTIVÁLEČNÝMI VĚZNI V RUSKU“ (SOLIDARITY WITH ANTI-WAR PRISONERS IN RUSSIA) was placed there to express support for these imprisoned dissidents. On this day, we wanted to remind the world that whilst members of the ruling class in Russia and Ukraine live in safety and continue to profit from the war, it is the working class in both countries that is forced to make the greatest sacrifices. Statesmen wage wars; people like us die, are imprisoned and maimed in them. We will not remain silent. Not a single cent more for military operations.
